The body is turned from a single piece of beech and finished with linseed oil, so it sits warm and smooth in your palm. One side has rounded wooden pins to work through the undercoat; the other has natural bristles to smooth and polish.
It is the sort of tool that gets better the more it is used, as oils from the coat season the wood.
